Therapy for teens in Maryland

You are trying.

People just keep missing how hard you’re working.

School. Chores. Family. Friends. A future everyone expects you to have figured out already. It is a lot, especially when you are doing your best and still being called lazy, difficult, unmotivated, or not trying hard enough.

You do not have to perform here. You can ask why, push back, talk, make art, play something, share your latest hyperfixation, or sit quietly while we figure out what actually helps.

So, What Could Therapy Be Like?

Honestly, you get a say in that.

YOU BRING

A problem, a question, a goal, a story, a game, a meme, or absolutely no idea where to begin.

Tools, questions, games, art, ideas, experience, and plenty of curiosity.

I BRING
WE FIGURE OUT

What is making things hard, what matters to you, and what might actually help.

We can talk, make something, play a game, follow a sidequest, or sit quietly. You can ask why, say no to an idea, change your mind, or tell me I am missing something.

You have a real say in where we go and how we get there.

THE QUESTION EVERYONE ACTUALLY HAS

Okay, but what do you tell my parents?

I do not give parents a play by play of your sessions.

YOUR SPACE IS PRIVATE

Most of what you share stays between us. A parent may receive broad information about attendance, goals, overall progress, safety, or ways they can support you. They do not receive a detailed recap of everything you say.

WHEN I MAY NEED TO SHARE

I may need to involve an adult if I am worried that you might hurt yourself, someone is hurting you, or you might hurt someone else. Other disclosures required by law are explained in the consent forms.

Outside of safety concerns or situations where I am legally required to act, I will not go around you. If involving a parent or guardian could help, we will talk first and decide together what to share, how to say it, and how you want me involved.

Still wondering whether this could work for you?

You can use the Quest Log to tell me a little about what you are looking for, or ask questions before deciding anything.
